Briones presentó un escrito para dar a conocer su decisión y apuntó al Poder Ejecutivo de la provincia de Jujuy, es decir, al gobernador Gerardo Morales, por "desatender la opinión profesional brindada por la totalidad de los médicos especialistas". <\/p>\n

En ese sentido, consideró que la cesárea practicada a la menor significó una "innecesaria colocación en riesgo" y recordó que "el Servicio especializado en la materia, desaconsejó la interrupción del embarazo, por cuanto el feto -de acuerdo a su edad gestacional- tenía altísimo riesgo de morir en caso de ser separado del seno materno".<\/p>\n

Luego agregó consideraciones científicas para fundamentar su postura: "Es unánime la bibliografía en establecer que un feto con peso inferior a los 1.000 gramos y con edad gestacional menor a 27,6 semanas, se denomina prematuro inmaduro y goza de bajísimas expectativas de sobre vida". <\/p>\n

Finalmente, volvió a cargar contra la gobernación y calificó de "irrespetuosa intromisión" la decisión de practicar la cesárea. La intervención había sido ordenada por la Justicia y tuvo en cuenta el protocolo de interrupción del embarazo contemplado en la ley.<\/p>\n

Esperanza había nacido en la semana 23 de gestación y murió la semana pasada con un peso de 703 gramos.<\/p>\n
