Las entregas comenzar\u00e1n en septiembre.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El laboratorio dan\u00e9s que produce la \u00fanica vacuna autorizada contra la viruela del mono, <strong>Bavarian Nordic<\/strong>, <strong>anunci\u00f3 un acuerdo con la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud (OMS) para facilitar su distribuci\u00f3n en Am\u00e9rica Latina <\/strong>y el Caribe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Las entregas de vacunas <strong>empezar\u00e1n en septiembre<\/strong>&#8220;, indic\u00f3 Bavarian Nordic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El <strong>acuerdo firmado con la Organizaci\u00f3n Panamericana de la Salud (OPS<\/strong>), oficina regional de la OMS para las Am\u00e9ricas, busca &#8220;facilitar un acceso equitativo a la vacuna de la empresa contra la viruela del mono en los pa\u00edses de Am\u00e9rica Latina y el Caribe&#8221; explic\u00f3 el laboratorio en un comunicado, seg\u00fan inform\u00f3 la agencia de noticias AFP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Se trata de una <strong>vacuna contra la viruela humana, enfermedad mortal erradicada en 1980<\/strong>, que es actualmente utilizada contra la viruela s\u00edmica, cuya comercializaci\u00f3n oficial la realiza Bavarian Nordic bajo el nombre de Jynneos en Am\u00e9rica del Norte y de Imvanex en Europa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Limitada inicialmente a \u00c1frica central y occidental, la viruela del mono se propag\u00f3 desde mayo a otras partes del mundo, en especial Europa y Estados Unidos, con un total de 40.000 casos registrado hasta ahora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El t\u00e9rmino de viruela del mono fue usado tras la detecci\u00f3n del virus en 1958 en monos de un laboratorio en Dinamarca, pero el virus tambi\u00e9n fue encontrado en otros animales, sobre todo en roedores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>La enfermedad fue detectada por primera vez en el ser humano en 1970 <\/strong>y puede transmitirse de animal a hombre, pero la explosi\u00f3n reciente de casos se debe a la transmisi\u00f3n entre humanos por contactos estrechos.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>La OPS firm\u00f3 un acuerdo con el laboratorio dan\u00e9s Bavarian Nordic, el \u00fanico que la produce.
